I don’t know about you, but I had a hard time focusing this week. It feels impossible to fully show up for work, my family, and daily life while also processing the heaviness of the world and trying to figure out how to respond and offer support when life keeps going. When I feel stressed or anxious like this, I lean harder into hobbies that pull me off my phone and back into the present moment. Over the years, I’ve found that these little, analog moments are incredibly grounding, especially as a working mom who doesn’t get much time to herself. Let me tell you, if you are craving a mental break, "grandma hobbies" are where it's at. These are some of my favorite ways to unwind, destress, and clear my head. I keep this list in my phone and consult it when I need a break, and I'd encourage you to make a list of your own!
If you’re also feeling overwhelmed, I hope this is a reminder to slow down and do something small to give yourself a mental break this weekend. I’d love to hear what helps you unwind - hit reply and tell me what’s on your list! Featured Resource

There are so many things that seem to come along with “back to school” these days. New wardrobes. New backpacks. Elaborate first-day photos. Meal prep. Lunch packing. Special breakfasts. But I also think sometimes we need a reminder that just because something is popular on the internet doesn't mean it's something we actually need to do....
It's completely wild to me that we're in August already, but here we are! Welcome back to The Good Stuff, a monthly roundup of the things we loved most this month. After a very busy July, I am looking forward to having a little more time this month to make a dent in the massive amount of stuff we have piled in our garage. When construction was starting on our basement renovation, we hauled everything up the stairs and out to the garage to deal with later. Well, "later" is here and it's time...
Happy Friday! I'm a big podcast listener, and one of my favorites is The Lazy Genius. She recently shared a list of what's working and not working for her family this season, and it inspired me to do the same. It's such a simple way to check in on your routines and notice what's making life easier, annnnd what's not. I'd love to hear something from your own list, too! What's working for us this summer Meal planning based on our energy. We don't plan ambitious meals on our busiest days. If we...
