11 things saving me time before 8am (all on sale!)

Between getting my kids ready for daycare and school and myself ready for the office, my weekday mornings move fast! While going about my morning routine the other day, I made a list of all the little things that help my mornings run smoother as a corporate mom.

And here's a bonus: every single thing on this list is on sale for Amazon Prime Day right now!! 🙌🏼

  1. Skylight Calendar - Everyone knows what’s on the calendar and what’s for dinner
  2. Echo Dot - Reminds me of extra things to pack for daycare or special school dress-up days, tells me the daily forecast, and runs smart home automations
  3. Smart bulbs -All of our lamps are on a schedule so they turn on before I come downstairs to make breakfast and turn back off after I leave for work
  4. Espresso machine - Delicious lattes in minutes without waiting in line at Starbucks (saves me a lot of money, too)
  5. Glass Air Fryer - Prep dinner in the glass container before work. Pull out of the fridge when I get home, put the air fryer on top and we have dinner in a hurry.
  6. Rubbermaid Brilliance containers - Pack leftovers in these after dinner and they're ready to throw in your lunchbox the next morning. Great for warming up lunch and leakproof so even soup won't spill
  7. Apple slicer - Cuts perfectly thin apple slices in 30 seconds - the perfect afternoon snack at my desk
  8. Food chopper - I can prep a chopped salad to bring to work in seconds with this thing!
  9. Mop vacuum - The easiest and fastest way to clean up spills when you're in a rush (like when your toddler dumps a bowl of cereal on the floor as you are trying to get out the door)
  10. Charging station - Holds a power strip with charging cables so all of our devices are charged and ready to grab on the way out the door.
  11. Dry Shampoo - Tap the powder right onto your roots to absorb oil - love that it’s non-aerosol. Saves time not washing my hair every morning!

I can't believe my entire list went on sale this morning! In my experience, this summer Prime Day event has the BEST deals, so now's a great time to shop for upcoming gifts, household purchases, things you need for upcoming trips or even back to school. I also LOVE to browse my boring essentials like toothpaste and dishwasher tablets to see what deals I can score on the things I'm buying anyway.

What's For Dinner This Week

Intentionally easy meals this week because we're rushing to get everyone fed between work and swim lessons. Planning meals based on your schedule and capacity to cook makes all the difference!

  • Monday - crockpot BBQ chicken sliders + chips
  • Tuesday - fish sandwiches + fries
  • Wednesday - hot dogs & sausages with peppers & aoli
  • Thursday - tacos
  • Friday - enchiladas
  • Saturday - spaghetti
  • Sunday - homemade pizza

*We pull fresh fruit & veggies out of the fridge to serve along with dinner most of the time. I also rely a lot on frozen steamer bags of vegetables.

On My Mind This Week

  • Our basement renovation is complete as of today! After living here for 9 years, we achieved our goal of turning the unfinished basement into living space with an office, bathroom and big space that we plan to set up as a big game and craft room. I love the moody paint colors we chose! More to come as we start to furnish and organize this new space, but I wanted to give you a sneak peek:
  • I am on the hunt for the best Amazon Prime Deals to share with you, and will continue updating my master list with the latest deals you should know about. I've been waiting and waiting for this sale to buy another set of these amazing pillows, and I ordered a set of these snazzy looking chairs to go around the fancy board game table we got (will show you that once I get it set up!).
  • The Geometry semi-annual sale is on! This is the time to stock up on the best kitchen tea towels around. They are super absorbent and so cute! We love their bath towels too. This is one of those brands I find myself raving about to all my IRL friends. Shop through this link and use code EARLYBIRD for 35% off.
  • You can always shop my recent posts and find things I'm loving in my Amazon Shop and the LTK app.

If you're new here, I love it when you reply to these emails! It's always nice to know people are actually reading these. And yes, I really will reply back to you!

There are so many things that seem to come along with “back to school” these days. New wardrobes. New backpacks. Elaborate first-day photos. Meal prep. Lunch packing. Special breakfasts. A perfectly organized homework station. A whole new morning routine. And if those things make your life easier or you truly enjoy doing them, go for it! But I also think sometimes we need a reminder that just because something is popular on the internet doesn't mean it's something we actually need to do....

It's completely wild to me that we're in August already, but here we are! Welcome back to The Good Stuff, a monthly roundup of the things we loved most this month. After a very busy July, I am looking forward to having a little more time this month to make a dent in the massive amount of stuff we have piled in our garage. When construction was starting on our basement renovation, we hauled everything up the stairs and out to the garage to deal with later. Well, "later" is here and it's time...

Happy Friday! I'm a big podcast listener, and one of my favorites is The Lazy Genius. She recently shared a list of what's working and not working for her family this season, and it inspired me to do the same. It's such a simple way to check in on your routines and notice what's making life easier, annnnd what's not. I'd love to hear something from your own list, too! What's working for us this summer Meal planning based on our energy. We don't plan ambitious meals on our busiest days. If we...
